I dig this review of TLS, all right?

Carrie Laben, a finalist for last year’s Shirley Jackson Awards, is a very talented author you’ll be hearing more from soon.  Soon, I say!  She recently blogged about The Little Sleep:

“Other writers have used noir to poke at the edges of toxic masculinity – the alienation, the hostility, the dance of giving and receiving violence. The Little Sleep doesn’t just poke around the edges, though.”

What I’d hoped to do with Genevich and TLS was create a sort of anti-PI vibe; a PI who is barely a PI, who talked and sounded tough but was vulnerable, definitely not macho.  If I’m allowed to pick favorites (and no one can stop me), this is my new favorite review of the book.

It’s so going on the fridge.
